Welcome to Vong’s Taekwondo Academy (VTA)
Vong’s Taekwondo Academy (VTA) was founded by Master Michael Vong, a Kukkiwon-certified 5th Dan black belt specializing in World Taekwondo (Olympic style).

To promote and advance the practice of Taekwondo in Orléans, Ottawa, and the Eastern Ontario region.

About Master Vong
Master Vong has been dedicated to Taekwondo since the late 1980s, committing his time and energy to learning, teaching, and demonstrating technical excellence. He continues to actively compete in Ontario Provincial Black Belt Championships, reflecting his enduring passion for the sport.
In 2003, Master Vong founded the Lorette Taekwondo Club in Manitoba under Grand Master Kang. In 2009, he established the Rockland YMCA Taekwondo Club in Ontario under Grand Master Lee. VTA was launched in 2018 and remains committed to the traditional values taught by Taekwondo pioneers and Master Vong’s mentors—Grand Master Park, Grand Master Kang, Grand Master Lee, and Grand Master Tam.
Through his humility and dedication, students gain a deeper understanding of what it means to be a taekwondo martial artist. Master Vong takes pride in his students, many of whom have achieved success in championships and demonstrated leadership and technical expertise.
Our Commitment
VTA provides high-quality training for individuals of all ages, fostering discipline, respect, and personal growth. Master Vong emphasizes the importance of education, bilingualism (English and French), and physical fitness, encouraging students to maintain a “stay in school” mindset alongside their martial arts journey.

5th dan degree black belt, World Taekwondo. Founder of Lorette, MB TKD 2005. Founder of Rockland Y TKD 2009. Founder of VTA, Orléans, ON, 2018. - Provincial and club championships. - Medalist in patterns, sparring and board breaking. Master Vong began studying Kung Fu and Mui Thai in mid 1970s. In 1980s he joined ITF, and in 2001 he joined World Taekwondo. A graduate from U of Winnipeg, and is a federal government employee since 1991.
4th Dan Bo degree black belt, 3rd World Taekwondo. Co-founder of VTA Taekwondo Club. Multiple times medalist in Kukkiwon (WT) style patterns, and the art of board breaking. Master Pernell Vong started learning Taekwondo (WT) in 2001 and earned his first degree black belt in less than 2 years. University of Ottawa graduate, 2018, and became a Federal Government employee in 2021.
4th Dan Bo degree black belt, 3rd World Taekwondo. Co-founder of VTA Taekwondo Club. Multiple times medalist in Kukkiwon style patterns, and the art of board breaking. Master Devlin Vong started learning Taekwondo in 2002 at age 4. Master Devlin Vong completed his first dan degree requirement at age 7, among the youngest who had achieved that level in Canada. Graduated from Carleton University in 2020, and became a Federal Government employee in 2024, living in Regina SK.

Our programs are ideal for adults and children age 6+, and family activities.
Experienced martial artists are welcome.
• $65 per month for twice‑weekly sessions. Family discounts are available.
• Effective January 1, 2026, the monthly fee for individual registration will increase to $75.
